This approach provides the benefits of yoga – such as improved flexibility, strength, balance, and relaxation – without the need for floor work, making it accessible to those who might find standard yoga classes challenging.
Leading these classes is David Smith, a certified yoga instructor with much experience in adaptive yoga. David's approach is inclusive and compassionate, focusing on making yoga accessible to all participants, regardless of age or physical ability.
"Chair yoga opens up the world of yoga to everyone," David explains. "Our classes at St. Osyth are Going Strong and are designed to ensure that each person feels comfortable and supported while reaping the benefits of yoga practice."
The community’s response to the new classes has been overwhelmingly positive. Participants have expressed their appreciation for the gentle nature of the classes and the welcoming atmosphere.
"I never thought I could do yoga because of my limited mobility, but chair yoga has made it possible,"* says Sarah , a regular attendee. *"I feel more flexible and less anxious after each session."
